Dhaka, Bangladesh : Bangladesh President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed greeted the Hindu community on the occasion of the Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
The festival is celebrated on Sunday, Aug 24.
In a message on the eve of the day, he said, “The ideals of Lord Krishna was to develop the bonds of fraternity and real love among the human beings.”
Prof Iajuddin said Bangladesh is a country where communal harmony exists and people of all religions have been enjoying full freedom to observe their religious rituals.
The president urged all to further strengthen the existing communal harmony side by side to build Bangladesh as a happy and prosperous country with collective efforts.
He wished a successful celebration of the Janmashtami.
