Cairo : Palestinian factions have headed to the Egyptian capital to participate in bilateral talks grouping them with Egyptian officials in a bid to boost national dialogue.
Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement Dr Ramadan Abdullah Shalah and his delegation arrived here on Sunday to meet with Egyptian officials.
Bilateral talks are aimed at boosting the Palestinian united front, and ending disputes between Hamas and Fatah.
An official source recently reported that Egypt extended the invitation for meetings to be held with the Palestinian factions separately, in the hope of ending the continuous division between them.
The source added that Egypt would hold a dialogue with those factions after concluding bilateral talks, and achieving a complete Palestinian national project, based on the commitment of all Palestinian factions.
Bilateral talks will also include discussions on ways to extend the truce with Israel in the Gaza Strip.
