Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan was admitted to a hospital here following a blood pressure complaint and will not be able to inaugurate a Rs.350 million amusement park supported by his CPI-M in Kannur Sunday.
“He was feeling uncomfortable since last evening and his condition worsened today, so he was hospitalised,” the chief minister’s press secretary K. Balakrishnan said Saturday.
“He is under observation,” he added.
All the chief minister’s official engagements for the next two days have been cancelled.
Achuthanandan was slated to inaugurate Sunday the Vismaya Infotainment Park in Kannur district.
The project was conceived in 2001 by Malabar Tourism Development Cooperative Ltd with senior Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) central committee member and Kannur leader E.P. Jayrajan to oversee it.
