Kabul : A car bomb attack on a foreign forces’ convoy outside Kabul on Saturday resulted in the death of only the suicide bomber, police said.
Chief of Kabul police Brig. Gen. Ayub Salangi said the blast targeted a foreign force convoy just outside Kabul.
However, he said, no foreign soldier was killed or injured.
NATO press office has not yet issued a comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, the coalition troops said they killed several militants during an engagement in Kapisa province, north of Kabul.
A statement issued by the coalition forces’ Bagram base said the troops were searching a compound in Nijrab district when they came under fire from militants.
Coalition forces engaged the militants with small-arms fire and called air support, killing several of them.
The statement did not mention the exact number of casualties among the militants.
