Bhopal: The closing ceremony of Quality month November-2008 was organized at IFX conference hall the other day. R K Singh, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal, GMs, Senior Officers and 2008 – Gunta Karmi award winners were present on the occasion.
R. K. Singh, in his address appreciated the initiatives taken during Quality Month especially about Root Cause Analysis, (RCA), which enhance customer’s faith in BHEL. He directed to work on RCA throughout the year.
On this occasion, Singh awarded 53 Gunta Karmi’s from various Department and also the Gold & Silver medal winner Trade Apprentice at All India and Regional level respectively.
Utpal Chatterjee, GM, Quality & Technical Services, in his address expressed faith in employees, that the momentum of initiatives started by Quality Dept. will be maintained. A. K. Chaturvedi, Sr. DGM, Quality, briefed about the activities organized during the Quality month.
Meanwhile, a user friendly dispatch and Invoice Documentation Generation System was inaugurated and made operational across all commercial divisions, finance and warehouses. The system went live in the presence of Prabhat Kumar, GM, P&D, Dindayal, GM, CC, CDC & CMG, R R Yadav, GM, Finance, D. Sen, GM, IT in a function held here the other day.
In the new system, the Dispatch Advice Note, Packing list and Invoice can be printed on Laser Printers at user’s end in A-4 format. The New system was recommended by a Cross-functional team constituted for improving operational performance through Automation. The System enables 30-40 per cent stationary reduction besides cycle time reduction and better quality document generation.
The system has been jointly designed by a team of IFX, CDC & Finance executives. The system was developed by Mrs. Deepa Prabakar, Manager, IFX and Anup Khare, Dy. Manager, IFX in consultation with CDC and Finance
M.P. Deshpande, Manager (CDC), welcomed all guests and gave brief advantages of newly developed Documentation Generation System. On this occasion M.D. Dutt, AGM, CDC, Ramkumar, Sr. DGM, Finance, Srinivas, Sr. DGM, CDC were also present.
Meanwhile, as every year BHEL employees paid homage to the victims of Bhopal Gas Tragedy by observing silence for two minutes on 3rd December. This also marked the commencement of Industrial Safety Week in BHEL, Bhopal. On this occasion all employees stood in silence throughout the factory to pay homage to Gas Victims.
