Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Friday dedicated a gold-studded throne, costing Rs.12.5 million, to the famed Dwarkadhish temple in Dwarka.
The throne was donated by Kankarej legislator Babubhai Desai.
Modi also announced Rs.500 million for developing amenities for the devotees.
He said an airport would come up at Dwarka soon, adding that the state government has given clearance for 222 hectare land for the purpose.
He also prayed at the Dwarkadhish temple, 417 km from here, and visited the ancient Shankaracharya peeth monastery.
Modi also laid the foundation for a gateway Dhirubhai Ambani Marg, to be constructed at a cost of Rs.10 million. The expenditure for this would be borne by the family of Babubhai Desai.
