Chennai : Unbeaten half-centuries from opener Andrew Strauss and Paul Collingwood helped England score 172 for three in the second innings and stretch the lead to 247 runs against India on the third day of the first cricket Test here Saturday.
Strauss was batting on 73 and Collingwood on 60 when the stumps were drawn at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. England made 316 in the first innings and then bowled out India for 241.
