“Pakistan needs detail evidence through diplomatic channels instead of media,” said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing a joint press conference with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt.

He said that evidences are being released by India through media only and Pakistan has not provided any proof officially. India has said that it has started investigation and told Pakistan that when they will complete it, they will share the results with Pakistan, he added. He said further that Pakistan has offered India joint investigation to build confidence and even prepared to visit India to lead a delegation to promote confidence building but waiting positive response from India.

Referring to bilateral relations with Sweden, Foreign Minister Qureshi said that Pakistan has very good relations with Sweden and with the visit of Swedish Foreign Minister these relations will be further strengthened. He said the issue of greater market access for Pakistani goods to Europe was also discussed during the discussion.

The Swedish Foreign Minister said the discussion remained fruitful. He said Sweden has been trying to make an effective contributor to democratic Pakistan following the revival of democracy.

The next troika meeting of EU, he said, would also discuss further ways and means for Pakistan’s development.
