Mumbai : ICICI Bank, India’s largest private sector bank, Friday said joint managing director Chanda Kochar will succeed K.V. Kamath as the bank’s managing director and chief executive.
The appointment will come into effect May 1, 2009 after Kamath retires.
Kamath, chief executive since 1996, will become non-executive chairman replacing N. Vaghul.
The appointment came as no surprise as Kochar was widely recognised as the top contender for the post.
