Pietersen calls Yuvraj ‘filth’, says England may not win

Mohali (Punjab), Dec 21 (IANS) England skipper Kevin Pietersen Sunday admitted that his team may not win the Test match against India under way here and called left arm batsman-bowler Yuvraj Singh “left arm filth”.

Pietersen told the media after the third day’s play that it would not be easy for his team to beat India.

“I was enjoying my batting and my partnership with (Andrew) Flintoff was going well. It was really frustrating to lose two quick wickets in the last moments of the game. Now it is difficult for us to win the game,” said Pietersen, indicating that England would try to play for a draw.

Pietersen made 144, hitting 17 fours and one six, before getting trapped leg before to spinner Harbhajan Singh.

About his personal innings, Pietersen said: “We lost quick wickets in the first session. I made runs at a good pace and even played some risky shots. However it was needed to make a comeback to the game.”

Praising Indian bowler Zaheer Khan, he said: “Zaheer is a good bowler and he was bowling really well Sunday. I enjoyed playing him.”

In the wake of his spat with Yuvraj Singh, Pietersen said of him: “Yuvraj is a ‘pie chucker’ and ‘left arm filth’.”
