Mohali (Punjab) : Play on the final day of the second cricket Test between India and England was delayed here by fog and bad light Tuesday. The fog was so thick that the pitch was hardly visible from the boundary ropes.
Fog and bad light has cut playing time on the third and fourth mornings of this Test as well. On Tuesday, even the players did not come out to the ground to warm up, as the match appears destined for a draw.
Play was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. but an hour after that, umpires Asad Rauf and Daryl Harper were still assessing the situation.
At the end of the fourth day’s play here at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium, India were 134 runs for the loss of four wickets after 50 overs in the second innings, with an overall lead of 285 runs over England.
