As the upper house met at 3 p.m. after its third adjournment of the day, Vice President Hamid Ansari, who was in the chair, announced that the 214th session of the upper house of parliament was being adjourned sine die.

Earlier, amidst the din, the house passed without discussion two bills — one amending the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the other on reservations for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes in civil services — by voice vote.
