The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police detained the men in the early hours from the Chinhat locality of Lucknow.

“After a tip off, we raided a house in the Kantipur locality of Chinhat and arrested the young men,” inspector A.K. Yadav of the ATS told IANS.

He said three revolvers, three pistols, five mobile phones, a bike and some telephone numbers have been recovered from the men.

The men have been identified as Prem Chandra Verma, Mohit, Narsingh, Mohammad Naseem and Rajesh Kumar.

It is suspected that the gang was sourcing the weapons from Bihar and supplying them to criminals in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said.
