Naudero : Quran Khawani was held at the mazar of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto at Ghari Khuda Bux on Saturday morning on the occasion of her first death anniversary. The Quran Khawani started at about 10 a.m. and later Fateha was also offered.
A large number of people, visibly moved, some were crying and chanting slogans of ‘Zinda hay Bibi Zinda hay’ gathered at the mazar despite cold weather and heavy fog to pay homage to the great leader.
Banners were all around reading “ Bibi’s blood would not go waste”.
Strict security arrangements were made for the occasion and about 6,000 personnel of law enforcement agencies were deployed at the mazar and the roads leading to it.
Besides, the security volunteers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) wearing black clothes and caps were also performing security duty.
Ambulances and fire tenders were also deployed and first aid camps set up.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, and Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, also visited the mazar of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and offered Fateha.
