New Delhi : A total of 43 probables, besides those on national duty, have been called for selection trials of the Ranji Trophy one-day tournament starting here Feb 26, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced Friday.
In-form batsman Aakash Chopra and left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra, who is recuperating from an ankle injury, have also been picked. Nehra has travelled with the Delhi team throughout the season and has been bowling at nets.
Delhi, led by Gautam Gambhir in the absence of captain Virender Sehwag, won the Ranji Trophy title after 16 years last month.
Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma, who are in Australia for the one-day tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Australia, and Virat Kohli and Pradeep Sangwan, who are attending a preparatory camp in Bangalore for the under-19 World Cup, will be automatically eligible for selection if available, said a DDCA release.
The selected players have been asked to report at Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds Monday morning.
