Indian cricket League: Delhi Jets beat Kolkata Tigers

Chennai : Monish Mishra scored a fine unbeaten 118 to propel Delhi Jets to a five-wicket win over Kolkata Tigers in the second Indian Cricket League (ICL) tournament here Friday

Chasing a competitive total of 299 in 50 overs in the sixth match, Mishra, who was later adjudged the Man of the Match, Jai Prakash Yadav (67) and Abhinav Bali (42, 30 balls) helped Delhi Jets score 300 for five in 45.4 overs for a comfortable win at the Mayajaal Sports Village.

After winning the toss, Kolkata Tigers skipper Deep Dasgupta decided to bat, with openers Parviz Aziz (93, 88 balls) and Anshu Jain (44) giving them a solid start with their 145-run partnership.

Then, Rohan Gavaskar made a quick 45 off 34 balls and Dasgupta scored a brisk 38 helping the Tigers to a competitive total. For Delhi Jets, Bali took three wickets for one run towards the end of the innings.

Chasing, Delhi Jets were in the fray from the outset with opener Mishra making his century off 119 balls, hitting six boundaries and five sixes. Along with Mishra, all-rounder Bali excelled with the bat. Mishra completed the formalities along with Ali Murtaza.
