New Delhi : Three Turkish citizens died between 2003 and 2005 from illicit kidney transplants set up by Dr. Amit Kumar in Gurgaon, India, informed the Hindustan Times Monday.
The journal’s editorial not only criticized the unscrupulousness of the man, who Indian media calls Doctor Horror, but the public, for its apathy, and the collusion of some police.
The deaths of the three foreigners were revealed to investigators by the chauffeur of Dr. Upender Kumar, one of the associates in the million dollar kidney transplant business not far from New Delhi.
The fugitives from Interpol, Amit Kumar and his brother Jeevan, tricked poor people into donating their kidneys for very little money and then transplanted them to rich people who paid fortunes for the surgery.
Dr. Upender is now under arrest for disposing of the bodies of Mehmet Bayzit, Ishmat Gurmer and Ahmet Yalidiram in the Ballabgarth Hospital where, in conspiracy with local authorities, registered the cause of death as heart failure.
