World Cancer day observed at BHEL Bhopal Hospital

Bhopal : World Cancer day was observed on 4th February 2008 at BHEL Kasturba Hospital under the banner of IMA, BHEL, Bhopal branch.

Dr. K.V. Pandya, Director, JLN Cancer Hospital, was the chief guest and Dr. Dilip Kar, Oncosurgeon, JLN Cancer hospital, was invited as guest Speaker. Dr. NC Agrawal, CMS, Kasturba Hospital, doctors, nurses and students in large numbers from College of Nursing were present on this occasion.

The message on World Cancer Day “Second hand smoke is a health hazard for you and your family”. There is no safe level of exposure to second-hand smoke. “Give your child a smoke-free childhood” was also read out to the audience.

Dr. Kar in his address highlighted general approach towards cancer in India. He also shared few myths which are prevalent among the public and the reality regarding cancer and its prevention. Dr. K.V. Pandya & Dr. N.C. Agrawal CMS, Kasturba Hospital also shared their thoughts on this occasion.
