Gaza City : A Palestinian activist was killed and three others were injured when the Israeli army pounded Beit-Hanon town, north Gaza Strip, Wednesday evening.
The Israeli military operation targeted activists of Ezzedeen AL-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), who were preparing for a missile attack against the nearby Israeli towns, eyewitnesses said.
One of the three injured fighters is in critical condition, according to Palestinian medical sources.
The Palestinian militants were at the customs area of Beit Hanon when the Israeli forces stationed on the borders with Gaza fired a land-to-land missile at them, the witnesses said.
Ambulances hurried to the scene and rushed the injured militants to a nearby hospital, they added.
The Israeli Air Force has earlier this evening launched to air-strikes against areas in central and south Gaza Strip.
An F-16 fighter targeted an empty cottage at a farm in Al-Nusairat refugee camp, central Gaza.
The second air raid targeted a car parking near the house of Zaki Al-Dardisi – a Hamas leader – in Ma’a twon east of Khan-Yunis, south of Gaza Strip.
No casualties were reported after the two attacks.
