Dharamsala : Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, has mourned the death of green crusader Baba Amte saying Amte’s compassion shone through everything he did.
The Dalai Lama has sent his condolence message to Amte’s family, a spokesman of the Tibetan government in exile said here Monday.
“His demise is a great loss to all of us. I am an admirer of Baba Amte. I vividly remember my visit to his thriving community of handicapped people at Anandvan in 1990,” the Dalai Lama said in his condolence message.
“At that time I could not help feeling that here was someone who was truly compassionate. In fact, I told him that whereas my compassion was just so much talk, his shone through everything he did, including his work for creating greater awareness about protection of the environment.”
