Jakarta : Former Asian No.1 Jeev Milkha Singh will lead a strong Indian challenge at the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open golf tournament, starting here Thursday.
India’s newest golfing star Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia, who won the EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters Sunday, has decided to skip the event, but still the presence of top Indian golfers like Arjun Atwal, Jyoti Randhawa, Gaurav Ghei, Shiv Kapur, Rahil Gangjee and Amandeep Johl Singh besides Jeev will give the $1.2 million event at the Cengkareng Golf Club a strong Indian falvour.
Asian Tour No.1 Liang Wen-chong of China will play his season’s first tournament.
Fresh from a glorious 2007 season where he won the prestigious Asian Tour’s Order of Merit crown with one victory and eight top-10s, Liang will be hoping to resume form where he left off last season.
