Gaza : The two mainstream Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas, condemned on Saturday an Israeli air raid against unarmed civilians in Gaza Strip’s Breij Camp last night.
The raid’s casualty toll has reached eight dead and 80 injured so far.
In a press release, Hamas said it would retaliate against this brutal attack, adding that Palestinians will not abandon their homes as was the case with inhabitants of Israel’s Sderot town.
One of the raid’s targets was a leading figure in Islamic Jihad Movement, Ayman Fayed, who was killed along with his wife and a number of his children, as well as some neighbors.
On its part, Fatah said this raid has proven that Israel has adopted the path of organized crime, urging the international community to take a strict stance when it came to Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
In a press release broadcast by Voice of Palestine radio, Fatah said such crimes were only attempts to make Palestinians abandon their demands and accept Israel’s unjust peace plan.
In addition, spokesman for Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh told the radio that the raid was a form military escalation that would negatively affect the entire peace process.
