Erekat told “Voice of Palestine” radio station that the meeting will focus on final status negotiations, in addition to the situation in Gaza which is under strict Israeli siege for several months now.

Abbas will urge Olmert to lift the siege, re-open all the Strip’s crossings, respect the road map, and end all settlement plans in the West Bank and Jerusalem, he added.

Erekat said food and medical aid should continue to reach the strip and the Israeli escalation must stop.

He warned that any Israeli aggression on Gaza, which is already suffering difficult conditions, will lead to a disaster in the region.

He stressed that any agreement to be made at the meeting must lead to ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the establishment of a State of Palestinian with Jerusalem as its capital.

Erekat also emphasized that the Palestinian side does not care about what Israel deems negotiation, but cares that the talks solve the issues of Jerusalem, refugees, settlements, water, prisoners, and relations.
