DOHA, Feb 17 (KUNA) — Officials taking part in a forum about America and the Islamic world were discussing Sunday Islamic countries’ expectations of the new US administration.
They discussed the situations in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as how to spread democracies in the Islamic world.
Chairman of the foreign relations committee at the Palestinian parliament Dr. Zeyad Abu Amro attributed conflict between the US and Islamic world to the “struggle for power and control.” Solving the Palestinian cause will address many problems between America and the Islamic world, he said, noting that the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories would never has lasted without the American support.
Abu Amro warned that the two-state solution — Israel and Palestine — would be inappropriate if it failed to materialize in near future.
