At least ten people killed in election-related violence

Islamabad : At least ten people have so far been killed and several others injured in election-related violence in Pakistan Monday, officials said.

By and large, polling is underway peacefully all over Pakistan.

A woman was killed in exchange of fire between rival political workers in Gujrat. Another person was killed in exchange of fire in Sialkot district. In most incidents exchange of fire claimed the lives.

The polling was temporarily suspended at some points where violence hit. However, it resumed shortly.

President Pervez Musharraf cast his vote in Rawalpindi. Similarly, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Zardari cast their ballots in Lahore and Nawabshah respectively.
