Cairo : Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has left for Buenos Aires to attend a two-day preliminary meeting of the Arab-South American summit starting Wednesday in the Argentine capital.
Moussa told reporters prior to his departure Monday that participants in the preliminary meeting are expected to endorse a set of principles that would be called the Buenos Aires Declaration.
This declaration is expected to prepare the groundwork for cooperation between the Arab world and the South American states.
Moussa said that the preliminary meeting is expected to “enrich dialogue between Arab and South American states.”
This meeting is expected to lead to a much larger summit between the two sides, which is expected to be held in Doha in the autumn.
