One ISAF soldier killed, another wounded in Afghanistan blast

Kabul : One soldier of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed and another wounded in an explosion in southern Afghanistan. A statement from ISAF headquarters here said the soldiers were on patrol in the south when hit by an explosion on Sunday. It did not mention the exact location of the blast. The statement said conditin of the wounded soldier is out of danger. “Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldier who was killed whilst on patrol yesterday,” said Lt. Col. Sarto Leblanc, Regional Command South spokesperson. This soldier’s life was taken while trying to bring peace and security to Afghanistan., he added. The alliance did not release names of the dead and injured soldiers saying only relevant national authority would do so under NAtO’s policy.
