“One civilian was killed and another four were wounded when a bomb, which was placed inside a car and was parked by the side of the road, was exploded by remote control,” Abdul Qader, a police official at the site of the attack, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

He said that the target of the attack was a convoy of police, which was passing at the time of blast, but there were no casualties among the police personnel.

More than 140 people – mostly civilians – have been killed in two suicide attacks in the past two days in Kandahar province.
