KSDL signed Dhoni as brand ambassador for its flagship product, Mysore Sandal soap, for two years in January 2006. The deal was fixed at a whopping Rs.8.6 million, which includes commission for the agency representing him.

The company Wednesday alleged that Dhoni had made himself available for only three days during the two years as against 10 days (five days each year) stipulated in the contract, a KSDL statement said.

The statement added that he also declined to extend the contract by another six months following which KSDL was forced to serve a legal notice to Jharkhand cricketer seeking compensation.

A company spokesperson said the matter was now referred to arbitration.
