Quito : The government of Ecuador on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in the wake of heavy rainfall that has caused flooding in the South American country, DPA reported.
At least three people have drowned in the flooding, which has also damaged to infrastructure and agriculture, authorities said.
The declaration opens the door for funds to address the damages.
Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Argentina have also faced recent flooding.
