Berlin : Russian authorities have frozen several accounts of German airliner Lufthansa amid an ongoing tax payment row, news reports said Thursday.
Russian officials demand tax payments in arrears, totalling between five to seven million euros.
Lufthansa and the Russian side have refused to comment on the latest report.
It remained unclear how much money was deposited on the Lufthansa accounts.
Russia and Lufthansa have reportedly a different interpretation of tax rules in that country.
The current tax dispute has dragged on for years.
Lufthansa is still allowed to carry on with its everyday operations in Russia despite the blocking of the accounts.
It can use some of its accounts to pay plane fuel bills and airport fees.
Last October, Lufthansa and Russia were also involved in a quarrel about overflight fee demands by the Russian government.
Moscow had also arm-twisted Lufthansa to force the German air carrier to fly to Krasnoyarsk in Siberia instead of its current hub, the Kazakh capital Astana.
Lufthansa Cargo was redirecting flights around Russian air space, leading to longer flying times, higher fuel use and additional costs.
