Sydney : India’s abysmal record at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) was extended Sunday as they have now lost all 11 matches to Australia here.
India, who lost by 18 runs in a Commonwealth Bank Triangular Series match, have won only three out of 14 matches played here, but the wins have come against other opponents.
India became the first visiting side to concede two totals of 300-plus to the hosts at the SCG. They had conceded 359 for five wickets in February 2004.
India, who scored 299 and lost by 18 runs Sunday, registered their highest total at the SCG, bettering their 296 for four against Australia in January 2004.
India’s 299 is their second best in Australia, next only to their 303 for four at Brisbane in January 2004.
Australia have now won 72 and lost 33 out of 108 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) played at the SCG for a winning percent of 66.67. Three matches have ended in a ‘no result’.
Australia scored (317 for seven to register their fifth 300-plus total at this venue.
