New Delhi : The Delhi High Court Wednesday asked the capital’s civic agencies to provide information about the progress in the construction of multi-level vehicle parking projects.
Chief Justice M.K. Sharma and Justice Reva Khetarpal asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Delhi Police to file their reply by March 19.
Admitting a public interest litigation, the bench said: “Tell us what you (agencies) are doing with the multi-level parking project. Parking over roads is a sensitive issue.” The judges asked them to give high priority to it.
Advocate Sugreev Dubey, who filed the petition, pointed out that there were many places in the capital where there was no facility to park, forcing people to park their vehicles over the footpath.
