Davutoglu made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani here, an Iraqi government statement said Wednesday.

The statement said Davutoglu conveyed a message from Turkish President Abdullah Gul inviting his Iraqi counterpart to visit Turkey, but without specifying the date for the visit.

For his part, Talabani emphasized the need to settle all differences through dialogue and to uphold each country’s sovereignty.

Earlier, Davutoglu met Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and commented about the Turkish military’s ground operation in Iraq’s north, saying its “objective is clear, our mission is clear and there is no timetable until those terrorist bases are eliminated.”

Davutoglu told a news conference after talks here with Zebari, that the incursion will be “limited.”

For his part, Zebari said they condemn the terrorists and the PKK, “but they also condemn the violations of the sovereignty of Iraq at the same time and we have to be very clear on that,” Zebari said.
