New Delhi : At least four people, including an army soldier, were killed and 24 injured in Sri Lankan capital Colombo Wednesday.
“The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has carried out a bomb attack targeting an army bus,” Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said in a statement in Colombo — excerpts of which were carried by the Indo Asian News Agency.
As many as 10 soldiers were among the 24 injured, the statement said.
The bomb was placed inside the Nippon Hotel in Kumaran Rutnam Mawatha, a commercial hub close to the Sri Lankan Army headquarters.
A civilian bus was also damaged in the blast, which took place during the morning rush hour.
