Witnesses said the army was boosting its presence within the city with more military equipment, tanks and bulldozers.

They said that counter to what Israel was claiming, the military operation in Nablus was being carrying out on a wide scale and that building rooftops had been turned into military watch posts.

The Israeli Army arrested five Palestinians in the city, including two Fatah supporters and two medics.

Meanwhile, Radio Israel said the army discovered a weapons cache in the old district of the city holding two missiles, which it destroyed.

The Jewish state’s troops had stormed Nablus yesterday, claiming to be on the search for Palestinians wanted for executing operations against the Israeli Army. Some 25 Palestinians were wounded in the clashes, and three are in critical condition.
