India”s Bombay Stock Exchange touches new height; crosses 21,000 mark

New Delhi : India’s key Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Tuesday touched new heights and crossed the 21,000 mark following heavy buying by funds. The Sensitive Index or Sensex of BSE touched 21,077.53 points in early trade today, news agency Press Trust of India reported from India’s financial hub Mumbai. India’s National Stock Exchange’s Nifty today registered 6327.65 points.

The 30-share Sensex touched 20,000 points for the first time on October 29, 2007. There are expectations that Foreign Institutional Investors would increase their purchases at the BSE with fund allocations in the New Year, the news agency said.
