Kozhikode : Riding on a brace by Wisdom Abbey, Viva Kerala defeated Air India 3-2 in closely fought match of the I-League here Thursday.
Viva opened its account in the 55th minute, through Abbey who connected a Saleel’s cross from the left wing. But within five minutes Air India found parity through Nigerian Bashiru M. Abbas.
However, the home side again went into the lead in the 65th minute through its captain Khelemba Singh, whose power packed free kick from 35 yard gave no chance to Air India custodian Raju Ekka.
Within two minutes, Air India again came back into the game through Suley Musah’s. But Abbey did the trick for Viva just five minutes from the final whistle.
