Port Harcourt (Nigeria) : Several dozen people were feared dead after a tanker exploded on a main road near this city in the oil-rich Niger Delta region, BBC reported.
It was not immediately clear if the explosion was as a result of an accident or an attack.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, one of the largest rebel groups in the region, has committed numerous attacks in recent weeks.
As recently as Friday, the movement claimed responsibility for the explosion of an oil tanker.
There were no immediate details about the cause of the incident or the exact number of victims.
