Kuwait, World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation sign accord

Kuwait : Kuwait and the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding for hosting the fourth session of the forum from April 29 to May 1.

The accord was signed Monday by Faisal Al-Hajji, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and chairman of the Higher Committee of the Fourth Islamic Economic Forum Musa Hitam.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Advisor of the Prime Minister, the deputy chairman of the higher committee of the forum, Sheikh Salem Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the advisor of the state labour restructuring department and the executive apparatus, Aqel Al-Jassem, and other officials.

Sheikh Salem Al-Jaber told KUNA that the forum was held upon instruction of the Emir, indicating the participation of the prime minister at the third Islamic forum that was held in Kuala Lumpur in July 2007.

He affirmed that the holding of the forum in the country served the higher objective of making Kuwait a financial centre in the region.
