New Delhi : Sony television Monday bagged the rights of the Indian cricket board’s Indian Premier League (IPL) at a cost of $1 billion for 10 years. The first edition will be held in April.
As part of the package, Sony will pay the Board of Control for Cricket in India $908 million for the telecast rights and $108 million for promotion of the tournament comprising Twenty20 matches.
