Islamabad : Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif Monday proposed a national government without President Pervez Musharraf to steer Pakistan out of crisis.
Nawaz Sharif, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) told an election rally near Islamabad also called for neutral and independence Election Commission for holding free and fair elections.
“PML-N to foil Pervez Musharraf’s planning for rigging in October 18 polls and the elections would be a referendum against him,” he added.
He went on to say that Musharraf was obeying every order from the United States and said that Pakistan is the country of 160 million people and not property of the U.S or a military General.
Nawaz Sharif noted that the PML-N government did not obey any advice from the U.S and carried out six nuclear tests after India nuke tests but the present rulers were playing role as slave of the U.S.
He made it clear that he never accepted Musharraf as President, adding that Pakistanis needed such leadership to bring back the country on track of development and progress.
