Yasser Abed Rabbo, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said in remarks to “Voice of Palestine” radio station that the “ugly crime that took lives of more than 20 Palestinians in Gaza Strip over the past two days and Israel’s promise to commit further crimes constituted a proof of their desire to stop taking part in the peace process.” The PLO official added that the Israeli military escalation was also intended to cover up disarrays in the Israeli leadership, with withdrawal of some blocs from the Tel Aviv government.

“The world should see that Israel is being desperate to jeopardize the negotiations and the political process and does not want to sit at the negotiating table to discuss ending the occupation including Jerusalem and halting settlement activities,” Abed Rabbo said.
