Algerian Permanent Representative Yousef Yousfi told The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that he spoke with U.N. Chief of Staff Vijay Nambiar about the probe Friday evening and that they both have agreed to continue discussions to find ways “to cooperate in a better manner.”

According to Yousfi, Algeria is officially objecting to the U.N. independent commission into the bombings because it was not consulted. “When they decided to establish this team, there was no consultation with the Algerian government,” he said.
