Dubai : Gulf News daily reported in its Friday edition Iran has proposed establishment of a Persian Language Faculty at Bahrain University.
According to the Dubai-based daily, Iran’s proposal for the establishment of the faculty at Bahrain’s largest university was presented by Iran’s Ambassador to Doha, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in his meeting with Bahrain’s Education Minister.
Amir-Abdollahian also proposed improving the level of academic ties between the two countries during the meeting, according to the report.
Gulf News added, “No Bahraini official has thus far reacted to the proposal, although Iran had earlier, too, presented a similar proposal to Bahrain.”
Bahrain University has 20,000 students and its courses are currently taught either in Arabic, or in English, while the university’s Faculty of Foreign Languages merely has the Sub-Faculty of French Language.
