Riyadh : Iraqi Foreign Undersecretary Labeid Abbawi praised on Sunday statements made by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal regarding appointment of a Saudi ambassador to Iraq.
The Iraqi official asserted in statements to Al-Riyadh Saudi newspaper that the Iraqi officials will offer all facilities to open the Saudi embassy in Iraq and are fully prepared to offer the appropriate protection for the diplomatic staffe.
Abbawi expressed his content and satisfaction of all Iraqi officials to receive the Saudi diplomatic mission, expected to arrive in Iraq in the near future.
The opening of the Saudi embassy in Iraq is considered a major step in boosting relations between both countries, he added.
Last week, the Saudi foreign minister said in a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that Saudi Arabia is prepared to open its embassy in Iraq in the nearest future.
