Karzai: Eliminating terrorism requires collective war

Kabul : Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai said here Monday that terrorism is an international problem and called on collective war against the menace.

“Terrorism is our main problem. Overcoming the menace requires collective international support,” he stressed in his remarks while opening the third legislature year of the country’s parliament.

He also emphasized that Afghanistan would continue to fight terrorism with all possible means.

“The government of Afghanistan would fight terrorists and those are involved in killing Afghans with all force,” the president added.

However, he said that his government’s door is open for those who accept the constitution of Afghanistan and takes part in the reconstruction of the war-torn nation.

However, he did not name Taliban or any other militants fighting his administration.

Both Taliban militants and Hekmatyar-led outlawed Islamic party the Hizb-e-Islami have more than once rejected the talks offered by President Karzai in the past.

Highlighting his government’s foreign policy, the Afghan leader said that Afghanistan’s foreign policy is based on non-interference in others’ affairs.

He also added that his government wants to live in co-existence and cooperation with all the countries in the world.

The President also expressed his gratitude to the international community particularly those nations contributed troops in the post-Taliban nation to stabilize security in the country.
