Pakistani president rejects notion of “Islamic” nuclear bomb

(With France-Pakistan-Talks series) PARIS, Jan 22 (KUNA) — Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday rejected the use of terms like “Islamic” bomb, when referring to Pakistans nuclear device.

Speaking on “France 24” television, the Pakistani leader also said that he had no fears he would be overthrown and that the nuclear capability would “fall into the wrong hands.” “I dont accept using the term of Islamic bomb”, he said. “Why don’t we use the term Jew bomb? India has a bomb, why dont we use the term Hindu bomb,” he asked.
He said his country did not possess and “Islamic bomb” but a Pakistani one.

Musharraf explained that Pakistan was not at risk in any way from an upheaval that would allow for the bomb to be controlled by anyone outside the army.

He remarked that the army was behind him as President and that he had good insight into what was going on and his country was “well organized.” He warned against confusing Pakistan with a “banana republic” or “an African country.”
