New Delhi : The net profit of Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (BRPL), a group company of state-owned refining firm Indian Oil Corp (IOC), rose by 143 percent from last year to Rs.849 million ($21.46 million) in the Oct-Dec quarter of fiscal 2007-08, the company said Wednesday.
The total income of BRPL rose by six percent to Rs.14.7 billion ($371 million) in this quarter from the previous year, the company said.
“The company has posted a net profit of Rs.849 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2007 as compared to Rs.348.60 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2006,” BRPL said.
“Total income has increased from Rs.13,849 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2006 to Rs.14,730.80 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2007,” BRPL said.
