Adelaide : Centuries from skipper Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke helped Australia make 563 runs in the first innings and take a 37-run lead in reply to India’s 526 on the fourth day of the final Test of the four-match series here Sunday.
Ponting made 140, his 34th Test century, while Clarke scored 118 at the Adelaide Oval.
For India, Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan picked up three wickets each while Virender Sehwag scalped two.
